This Privacy Policy explains how Fearless Church and For Worth Dying Inc collect, use, share, and protect information when you use The Table (the "App" or "Service"), available at roomatthetable.app and as a downloadable iOS app. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
The Table is operated by Fearless Church, the doing business as name of For Worth Dying Inc, a religious nonprofit corporation. You can reach us at hello@fearless.church or team@roomatthetable.app.
The Table is for adults eighteen years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor we delete it.
We collect information you give us directly, information about how you use the Service, and information from third party providers we use to deliver the Service.
Account basics. Your full name, email address, password (stored as a bcrypt hash, never in clear text), age, gender, neighborhood, and a profile photo if you upload one.
Phone number. Required to complete your member profile so your Crew leader can reach you. Stored in E.164 format. Revealed only to the specific person you both confirm a phone call meetup with. Never displayed publicly.
Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location while you are using it. We use it to confirm Sunday attendance at church, to support meetup safety features, and, only if you turn on Nearby Discovery (off by default), to show you members nearby. You can decline the location permission in iOS and still use the app.
Profile content you create. Your bio, life season, faith season, interests, "deeper" answer about what you want from community, lifestyle dial preferences, and meetup preferences.
Meetup activity. When you propose, accept, decline, or attend a meetup we store the host, the guest, the type (in person, online, phone, video), the day and time, the venue or meeting URL, your safety check setting, your notes, and the prayer text and prayer route you choose.
Direct messages with your matched member. The body of every message and counter proposal you send through The Table is stored on our server, visible to you, the recipient, and Fearless Church pastoral staff with leader access.
Post meetup ratings. After a meetup you can rate your meetup partner on five dimensions (safety, character, vulnerability, presence, fit) and add free text. Ratings are private to Fearless Church pastoral staff and are not shown to the person rated.
Reports and blocks. When you report another member we store the report including the category, your free text, and the member you reported. When you block another member we store the block relationship. Reports go to pastoral staff for review within twenty four hours.
Prayer content. Prayer requests you submit are stored along with the route you chose (your matched table, a pastor's prayer list, or the church prayer chain). If you record a short voice prayer over a request, that audio is stored.
Praise reports and journal entries. Praise reports you share with the community are stored and visible to members. Journal entries you write are stored on our server, encrypted at rest, and visible only to you. Pastoral staff cannot read your journal.
Pastoral care and counseling requests. When you request a pastoral visit we store your request, the urgency you selected, the brief you wrote, the pastor you chose, and the scheduling outcome. When you request a counseling referral to By Design Counseling Center we send your name, contact information, and your stated reason to By Design and store a copy of that referral.
Group memberships. Tables you join, X-18 home group RSVPs, outreach signups, and private invite responses are stored.
X-18 home addresses. If you host an X-18 home, the home address is stored. It is never displayed publicly. It is revealed only to members whose RSVP you approve.
Community Covenant signature. When you sign the Community Covenant during onboarding we store your typed signature and the timestamp.
Identity verification result. When you verify your identity through Stripe Identity, Stripe handles the photo of your government ID and your selfie under their own privacy policy. We receive only a verification result (verified or not verified) and the name and date of birth Stripe extracted from your ID. We do not see, store, or have access to your ID image or your selfie.
Notification preferences and push subscriptions. Your preferences for email and push notifications, plus any web push subscription details from your device, are stored so we can deliver the notifications you ask for.
Technical data. Your IP address, device type, app version, operating system, and crash logs.
Other church members can see your first name, last initial, age range, neighborhood, gender, life season, faith season, interests, bio, profile photo, host score, and any praise reports or recaps you choose to share. Members never see your last name, your email, your phone number, your address, your private journal, your ratings of others, or reports filed against others.
Members you are matched with can additionally exchange messages with you and see whatever you write to them.
X-18 home hosts see the message you wrote on your RSVP and your basic profile when they decide to approve or decline you. Once approved you both see each other's address.
Pastoral staff with leader access can see all member activity for purposes of pastoral oversight and safety: reports, ratings, blocks, meetup history, prayer requests routed to pastor or chain, pastor visit requests, and counseling referrals. Pastoral staff do not read your private journal.
By Design Counseling Center sees your name, contact information, and your stated reason only when you explicitly request a counseling referral. Nothing else.
We share only with the service providers we need to run the app, and only what they need to do their job:
We will share information with law enforcement only if we are required to by a valid legal order. If we ever have to, we will tell you unless the order forbids it.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. We keep prayer requests, meetup records, and referral records for up to seven years after they are resolved or completed, consistent with our pastoral care record retention practice. We keep technical logs for up to twelve months. When you delete your account we remove your profile, messages, journal, and posted content within thirty days, except where we are legally required to keep certain records longer or where retention is necessary to resolve a dispute.
We use HTTPS everywhere, hash passwords with bcrypt, encrypt the database at rest, limit access to staff who need it, and review our security practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach happens that affects you we will tell you.
If you live in California you have the right to know what information we hold on you, to ask us to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for asking. Email hello@fearless.church and we will respond within forty five days.
The Table is for adults eighteen and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information contact us at hello@fearless.church and we will remove it.
The Table is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States your information is transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States.
If we change anything important we update the effective date at the top, post the updated policy at this URL, and notify you inside the App. The current version always lives at https://roomatthetable.app/privacy.html.
